Thian Hock Keng, the “Temple of Heavenly Happiness” is the oldest Hokkien Chinese temple in Singapore. It was built from 1839-42 and dedicated to Ma Zu, the Chinese goddess of the sea. Macomber Productions recently returned to Singapura, which is the Malay name for Singapore, meaning “The Lion City.” The Merlion statue, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, watches over the city from Marina Bay at One Fullerton Place.
