  • A WALK IN THE PARK

    A WALK IN THE PARK

While in NYC just a day before Sandy landed in lower Manhattan I took a stroll through Washington Square Park in the village with no intent on shooting a frame of video. But after listening to the Baby Soda jazz band in the square, I switched over to movie mode and produced this short film for them on a whim. The setup was handheld. No rig for my Canon 60D. I chose to shoot a song that was upbeat for […]

  • Canon Cinema C300 Night Shoot Collaboration

Canon Cinema C300 Night Shoot Collaboration

Any time someone asks me to be DP on a shoot with a Canon Cinema C300 I pretty much drop everything and acquiesce. Especially if that someone is my pal Paul Antico of Anticipate Media, who just happens to own one. Paul and I had been discussing doing another collaboration with his C300 after working together recently on the first BostonĀ  Under 3 Minute Film Challenge. We also wanted to shoot something that would showcase how beautifully the C300 performs […]

  • Couple Enjoys Sunset

    The Willows

Salem, Massachusetts is one of those coastal towns on the north shore of Boston that has lots of character. I’ve shot many films in Salem since moving here. It’s an historical and colorful place with the tales of the Salem witches and the Mardi Gras atmosphere of Halloween (see my short: Halloween Carnival vimeo.com/16388984) But when all the tourists have left and summer arrives, locals flock to The Willows, a honky tonk picnic area with beautiful aging willow trees, arcades, […]

BTS from Big Ole’ Lens Test Party – Macomber Productions

So… what do you do when you are invited to hang at a lens test party with a bunch of cinematographers slinging cool gear and a promise of free food? A sort of lingerie party for guys? You shoot a BTS short film of course! And that’s exactly what I did as DPs Ben Eckstein, Chris Loughran and the gang scrutinized a plethora of lenses ranging in price from $350 to $20,000 on […]

A Good Day for Sara + Matt from Macomber Productions

Such a happy couple in love, Sara + Matt were a joy to work with on this perfect day at Castle Hill in Newport, RI. The operatic duet at the beginning of this trailer was performed live at the church.                                                     […]

Tekka Market Trailer, Little India in Singapore

Back in Singapore again. I’ve pretty much seen most of this tiny island by now, even if it keeps evolving each time I come back. The Chinese are pumping money into the economy and the current commercial construction here would make your head spin. One of my facebook friends said it best when viewing the photo of Marina Bay Center I posted below: “What […]

    Northeastern University Physics Co-op Promo

This DSLR short was part of a series of three promotional films for Northeastern University in Boston. There were lots of locations for the interviews so we had many setups and break downs during the day. Some of the interviews were shot with natural light and some were lit.                                                 […]

  • Seaport Salon Facials

    Seaport Salon and Day Spa

Who doesn’t like a day at the spa? Everyone should treat themselves to a full body pampering once in a while. This shoot was produced for my friend Susan Mulvihill Meldrum, owner/operator of The Seaport Salon and Day Spa, located on Lynn Harbor in Lynn, Massachusetts.                                   When I did the site survey and checked out the interior, I knew immediately that I wanted […]

  • Temple Woman

Temple of Heavenly Happiness – Macomber Productions

Thian Hock Keng, the “Temple of Heavenly Happiness” is the oldest Hokkien Chinese temple in Singapore. It was built from 1839-42 and dedicated to Ma Zu, the Chinese goddess of the sea. Sailors would seek her advice before embarking on voyages because of the widely held belief that she could predict the weather. Since I am a big fan of both history and architecture… I decided to check it out with my Canon T2i and my GorillaPod. On the morning […]
